Symantec™ Multi-tier Protection is the integrated environment for protecting servers, desktops, endpoint and messaging systems against a wide spectrum of threats your network may be exposed to.

Symantec Multi-tier Protection integrates tools and technologies that deliver all-round protection at all stages and at all times, enabling administrators to enforce usage policies, prevent virus infections, spam, intrusions and data leakage.

Symantec Multi-tier Protection is designed to stop malware and manage risks across on all desktop computers, servers, laptops and mobile devices running Windows, Macintosh or Linux operating system providing consistent interface and incredible ease-of-use even for non-proficient network administrators.

Symantec Multi-tier Protection includes Symantec Brightmail that helps enforce usage and data exchange policies, filters out malicious software contained in attachments, blocks spam in email communications, and prevents sensitive information from being relied to a third party outside your network.

Providing Messaging Security

Symantec Multi-tier Protection provides messaging security at all levels and endpoints. The suite includes anti-virus, anti-spyware and anti-spam technologies to protect any incoming and outgoing messages that either enter into or leave your network. Messages are being checked for malicious attachments, spam and other potentially dangerous content and those marked suspicious are filtered out.

The messaging security technologies included in Symantec Multi-tier Protection suite may be deployed directly at the servers handling mail running either Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Domino, or it may be activated on a different dedicated appliance that is responsible for delivering mail.

Symantec Multi-tier Protection is the industry standard for thorough messaging protection catching over 97% of spam and generating lower number of false-positives than any other solution you might be using.

This suite continuously updates its status by automatically downloading software upgrades, and information about suspect IPs that may be used to send out spam.

Providing Endpoint Security

Symantec Multi-tier Protection includes the Symantec Endpoint Protection suite that is responsible for providing all-round protection against spyware, viruses, Trojan horses, rootkits and other malware to all endpoint devices that are operating within your network.

This facility not only protects against well-documented viruses and other threats, but also deliberately stops targeted intrusion attacks and yet unsigned malware using heuristics and other techniques that prevent zero-day threats. For example a potentially dangerous application may be deemed bogus, when it performs suspicious network activity such as generating intense network traffic.
