Configuring Norton AntiSpam

Norton AntiSpam included in Norton 360 filters out spam emails arriving in your mailbox.

Norton AntiSpam gives you a good level of protection from unsolicited messages, scam, phishing and other potentially dangerous emails.

Norton AntiSpam allows you to customize a list of trusted senders and blacklist those you want to filter out.

AntiSpam included in Norton 360 utilizes the Bayesian algorithm to fight. Bayesian algorithm uses a scoring mechanism comparing each message against a predefined list of spam characteristics. If the message receives a high score, it's marked spam.

Norton AntiSpam also uses a set of spam rules that you can define yourself to filter spam messages. For example, you can define a list of trusted senders whose messages will not be checked using the Bayesian algo.

Norton AntiSpam can be switched off at any time, either temporarily or permanently, However doing so will increase your exposure to receiving spam. To avoid the risk of being struck by a torrent of scam messages, always ensure to have the AntiSpam turned on.

You can review the history of antispam at any time in the Security History of Norton 360.
