Configuring and Running Antivirus Scans With Norton 360
Norton 360 provides automatic protection against viruses, spyware and other risks by scanning incoming Internet traffic, files opened and applications run.
All threats are handled in an automated way. However, if some reason you feel your computer needs a comprehensive virus check, you may run a scan manually from the Norton Main Window.
Here is the list of the scan types available in the manual mode:
- Quick Scan
Scans only the most vulnerable areas of the system. This is the quickest way to detect infections, but more opportunistic viruses may not be found. After scan has completed, you can save your scan report to a file. - Comprehensive Scan
Checks for updates prior to running virus scan, and runs detailed check of all files and system areas. - Customized scans
Select areas of the system you want to get checked. Use the Let Me Choose option to customize your scan.
