How to use Norton Recovery Tool
You can use Norton Recovery Tool to resolve your Norton installation issues. This tool is located on your installation CD or can be downloaded from Symantec website if you purchased a download version from Symantec online store (click here for instructions).
Norton Recovery Tool is useful when something has prevented successful installation of your Norton product, for example an opportunistic virus infection or a rootkit. Use Norton Recovery Tool to check your computer for the risks that prevented Norton from installing on your system.
To launch Norton Recovery Tool, follow the instructions below:
- Close all running applications and restart your computer
- When your computer restarts, press any key to boot from CD
- Press Enter
- Type your Norton Product Key
- Click I Agree to accept the License Agreement
- Click Start Scan
When Norton Recovery Tool scan finishes, you may remove the CD and restart your computer.
