What is Norton Community Watch

Norton Community Watch is a system of gathering information about viruses based on community submission. Every Norton User can contribute by turning Norton Community Watch on in their installed Norton product.

Turning Norton Community Watch on will have you submitting selected security and application data to Symantec research labs for further analysis.

Symantec engineers will then assess the data to identify new viruses and find cures to them.

Norton 360 allows you to join this innovative research project when you install it on your computer. As a matter of fact, this option is selected by default and you'd need to uncheck the appropriate box to opt out.

Norton Community Watch settings can be accessed later on in the Administrative Settings window (view screenshots).
