Norton SystemWorks Standard Edition 12.0 now includes Norton AntiVirus, available as separate download. The license encompasses these two tools to give you the best level of antivirus protection while keeping your Windows system sane and fast.

The Norton AntiVirus included is quick, loads in just a couple of seconds and consumes very little memory so that you won't even notice it's running on your PC. It features Norton Pulse Updates, that downloads definitions every couple of minutes, Norton Insight, that speeds up file scans and a multi-layered protection mechanism that reliably protects against all known types of malware including viruses, spying software, bots, worms, Trojan horses and rootkits.

The core set of utilities of Norton SystemWorks Standard Edition 12.0 include file defragmenter, Norton System Monitor, file cleansweep feature, undelete feature, Registry Repair and Optimization feature, Norton Startup Manager and Norton WinDoctor that detects and fixes common Windows issues with just a couple of mouse clicks.

Norton SystemWorks Standard will intelligently remove cookies, Internet clutter and unused temporary Internet files that accumulate in your web browsing cache, freeing disk space and enhancing your overall computer performance.

The suite comes with Speed Disk™ and Norton Disk Doctor™ included, that optimize fragmented files on your hdd and repair hard drive errors that may slow down your disk or even cause severe problems such as data corruption.

If you mistakenly delete a file, the unerase feature is there to help. Just select the files you want to recover, and Norton SystemWorks will safely undelete them just as they were never removed from your disk.

Another useful feature is the System Optimizer that lets you tweak advanced Windows settings and Norton Startup Manager that allows you to turn off applications you don't want to start at the boot time.
