What is spam and how to prevent it?
Spam a malicious activity of sending hundreds, thousands or even millions of copies of the same e-mail message to users who didn't subscribe to receive such messages.
Therefore, spam is classified as unsolicited correspondence and sending unsolicited e-mails is nowadays a criminal offense in the majority of countries.
Spammers often collect e-mail addresses of their victims by crawling the Web with automated robots designed to extract valid email addresses from Websites, newsgroups, forums, community sites and other locations that are known to be disclosing email addresses of the participating users.
Spam often contains advertising, links to dubious websites, Ponzi-scheme websites, pharmacy product websites and the like.
Some spam messages may contain links to very dangerous phishing sites that are designed solely to steal personal information or to infect a computer with spying software. Therefore it is highly recommended to not open any e-mail that looks like spam that you receive in your mailbox.
