Who are hackers and how they can break into my computer?

Hackers are defined as clever and smart programmers of tiny computer programs that are used to exploit security flaws, break into systems or compromise security of the whole networks.

Hackers use various methods to launch their attacks or to break into a system. Home PC users are also exposed to their attacks since personal information stored on a personal computer may also be of high value for hackers or cybercriminals.

Hackers can use spyware, Trojan horses, bots, worms, rootkits or other malware to either hijack your PC gaining a total control over it, or to simply steal confidential information stored on your disk such as personal data, financial data, logins and passwords.

You can protect yourself from being hacked by installing an antivirus software, using well-configured firewall and by refraining from installing software from unknown sources or clicking links in unsolicited emails you often receive to your mailbox.
