What is DDoS attack?
DDoS stands for Distributed Denial of Service attack which is an attack by a hacker using large network of bot-infected computers, so called zombies, to generate huge amounts of traffic on the target host.
This artificial DDoS traffic often exhausts all bandwidth or computing power of a server rendering it unresponsive so that it can no longer serve legitimate users.
The zombie network is usually under command and control of a single malicious user or a group of criminals.
